68th session of the World Health Organization European Regional Committee
From September 17 to 20, 2018 in Rome in the Auditorium della Tecnica was the 68th session of the World Health Organization European Regional Committee.
The session was held under the patronage and with the participation of Her Majesty the Princess of Danish Maria, WHO Director-General Dr. Tedros Adhanom Chebreyesus and Director-General of the WHO ERC Dr. Zsuzsanna Jakob.
The main topics for discussion at the session were questions about the implementation of the following programs in the European Region:
- Action Plan to combat tuberculosis
- Strategies in the field of physical activity
- A roadmap for action to strengthen the implementation of the WHO Framework Convention on Tobacco Control for 2015-2025
- Action Plan for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children
- An action plan to support the use of evidence, information and research in policy-making
- Strategic action plan on antibiotic resistance
- Strategies to support the health and well-being of men
One of the items on the agenda of the session was the adoption of the Draft WHO Global Strategy for Health, Environment and Climate Change.
