From 3 to 7 December 2018 in Moscow, at the Expocenter on Krasnaya Presnya, the next International Scientific and Practical Forum \u00abRussian Health Week 2018\u00bb was held with the participation of domestic and foreign manufacturers of medical equipment and pharmaceutical companies, politicians, health care organizers, representatives of scientific and commercial medical elites of world health leaders.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>As part of the business program of the event and the IX International Forum on the Prevention of Non-Communicable Diseases and the Formation of a Healthy Lifestyle \u00abFor a Healthy Life\u00bb, on December 4, 2018, a scientific and educational event was held annually by the Occupational Health Physicians and Specialists Association and the Izmerov Research Institute of Occupational Health.<\/p>\n

The international seminar \u00abHarmonization of the List of Occupational Diseases of the International Labor Organization and the International Classification of Diseases of the 10th and 11th revisions: the present and the future\u00bb gathered in the Russian capital nearly one hundred and fifty scientists and practical doctors from all regions of our country, as well as leading experts from foreign countries \u2014 Italy, Switzerland, Serbia, China, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan \u2014 in the area of \u200b\u200bthe problem of maintaining occupational health.<\/p>\n\n

International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems \u2014 is a document used as the leading statistical and classification framework in health care, and periodically, once every ten years, revised under the guidance of the World Health Organization (WHO). The international classification of diseases (ICD) is a regulatory document ensuring the unity of methodological approaches, as well as international comparability of materials.<\/p>\n

International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems the 10th revision (ICD-10) is valid now. Health authorities and institutions of the Russian Federation carried out the transfer of statistics to ICD-10 in 1999.<\/p>\n

Ooccupational diseases, however, so far have not been included in the ICD.<\/p>\n

WHO\u2019 experts have been working on the revision of the ICD since 2012 directed to best progress in medical Sciences and practice. ICD-11 will be presented at 144th Meeting of the Executive Board (January 2019), and after that ICD-11 will be submitted for approval at the World Health Assembly (WHA) in May 2019.<\/p>\n

The section \u00aboccupational diseases\u00bb is planned to be included in the ICD for the first time, which will allow unifying approaches to establishing causal connection of the disease with the profession at the international level.<\/p>\n

The classification will come into force on January 1, 2022 in the participating countries.<\/p>\n

A broad and principled discussion of the key issues of the ILO list of occupational diseases and the ICD-11 draft harmonization will serve as an important step in addressing the key issues of preserving and improving of workers\u2019 health.<\/p>\n

The seminar was lively and interesting, many presentations by lecturers were accompanied by questions and discussions, leaving all participants and guests indifferent. The event did not fit into the framework of the allotted time, the problem under discussion captured participants in the dispute even after it ended.<\/p>\n
