Topical issues of demography
March 26th, 2018, meeting of the Demography Section took place in RAS Central House of Scientists (Moscow, St. Prechistinka, 16). The report “Life expectancy in Russia: regional features and forecasts” presented to the participants by Ph.D., Professor S. Shulgina — deputy head of International laboratory of demography and human capital of the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration (RANEPA).
The report caused a lot of questions and a lively discussion.

March 29th, 2018 the employees of the laboratory, candidate of biology T. Gorchakova and candidate of biology A. Churanova participated in the Seminar “Modern demography”, which was held in the Higher School of Economics (HSE).
The report “The connection between the rates of mortality and economic development in the RF regions” was made by PhD, head of the International Laboratory for Population and Health of NRU HSE, E. Andreev and PhD in geography, research advisor of the International Laboratory for Population and Health of NRU HSE and science researcher of the Laboratory of demographic data of Max Planck Institute V. Shkolnikov.
The report aroused great interest among the participants of the seminar.
