Meeting of the Committee on Entrepreneurship in Health and Medical Industry of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation

On June 19th, 2018, the meeting on “Discussing of the project “Typical norms for the issuance of special clothing, special shoes and other personal protective equipment for workers of professions and positions of all kinds of economic activity” took place at 10:00 in the Committee on Entrepreneurship in Health and Medical Industry of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation (Moscow, St. Ilyinka, 6).

The representatives of Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Ministry of Labour and Social Protection, Ministry of Industry and Commerce of the RF, research institutions, personal protective equipment manufacturers and business community participated in the meeting. FSBSI “Izmerov Research Institute of Occupational Health” was represented by its Director, MD, PhD, DSc, Professor, RAS Corresponding Member, I. Bukhtiyarov, Deputy director for scientific work PhD E. Zibarev, head of  hygienic issues in occupational health study department, MD, PhD, DSc, Professor, L. Prokopenko.

The questions on the necessity of the amendments and changes to the document “Norms for the free issue of special clothing, special shoes and other personal protective equipment for workers” of 09.12.2014.

I. Bukhtiyarov, Director of FSBSI IRIOH, in his report, touched upon a number of issues concerning the use of personal protective equipment and the complexity of making decisions to decrease in the class of working conditions in their use.

V. Korzh, Director of the department of working conditions and labor protection, raised the question of wear and tear of personal protective equipment and their effectiveness in the prevention of occupational diseases and diseases related to work.

Other reporters announced the results of the analysis of levels of fatal and serious injuries for the past 25 years. Also the reasons of high level of serious and fatal injuries in metallurgy, oil and mining industries, construction, transport and manufacturing industries were discussed.

A number of decisions were taken by the results of the meeting.
