In memory of a large hygienist toxicologist, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences Boris KURLYLANDSKY (1929-2018)

Boris Aronovich Kurlyandsky was born in Kharkov.

In 1947 he entered the Sanitary and Hygienic Faculty of the 1st Moscow Medical Institute, which graduated in 1953, specializing in industrial hygiene.

On distribution has got to Kazakhstan. He was the head of DorSES of Akmolinsk. Period — development of virgin lands.

In 1956 he returned to Moscow to work in the SES of the Moscow branch of the October Railway.

In 1957 he entered the postgraduate course of the Central Institute for Advanced Training of Doctors at the Department of Industrial Hygiene. After graduation started working at the Institute of Hygiene of Children and Adolescents.

In 1962, he transferred to the Moscow City SES for the post of head of the toxicology laboratory, where he worked for 16 years.

In 1979, he moved to the Research Institute of Semiproducts and Dyes (NIOPIK) for the post of head of the Laboratory of Hygiene and Toxicology.

In 1992, he took up the post of director of the newly formed State Institution “Russian Register of Potentially Hazardous Chemical and Biological Substances”.

Awards: medal “For Valiant Labor in the Great Patriotic War” for work at a defense plant during the war, the Order of the Badge of Honor, the Order of Friendship, jubilee medals.

The memory of a bright man, a major toxicologist for a long time will remain in our hearts.
