VI All-Russian symposium “Hazard, assessment and management of carcinogenic risks”

On June 7-8, 2012, the VI All-Russian symposium “Hazard, assessment and management of carcinogenic risks” was held in Yekaterinburg. 220 specialists from 27 regions of Russia took part in the two-day work of the symposium. A total of 15 reports on topical issues of assessment and management of carcinogenic risks were presented by the representatives of FSBSI IRIOH, Research Institute of Carcinogenesis of Blokhin National Oncology Medical Research Center, Directorate   of the Russian Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing for Sverdlovsk region, Ekaterinburg Medical-Scientific Center for the Prevention and Protection of Health of Industrial Workers,

The participants spoke about the most important problem of last decade – low detectability of professional cancers low detection of professional cancers against the background of a steady trend towards an increase in morbidity and mortality from malignant neoplasms. A special attention was paid to the primary discussion of the project of new sanitary and epidemiological standards “Assessment and management of carcinogenic risks to health”. E. Zibarev, deputy director on scientific work, PhD, took an active part in the forum.
